Our StoryAs most of you know, we met in Washington through mutual friends. We quickly discovered how much we had in common, and progressed in a short time from friends to dating... and before we knew it we fell in love. Now we're engaged and we're excited to start our lives together!
The Proposal:
First of all, it was a TOTAL surprise! I had no idea he had a ring or was going to propose right now. We had looked at rings and talked about a few possibilities, but with the stories he had concocted, he led me to believe it wouldn't be right now.... We had been over at some friends' house for dinner last night. When we got back to the house, he made up an excuse to run back to his car as he was walking me to the door, so I just went inside and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. I went into my room and set my coat and purse down, and the ring caught my eye as I was turning back around... it was in the ring box, sitting on my pillow. At first I froze, when I realized what it was, and it took a minute for it to sink in that it was my ring. Then he walked in and hugged me really tight me and asked if I would marry him. I said "yes!!" There were tears. There was champagne. It was really sweet and he totally pulled off the surprise!
