Astoria Wedding :: Sneak Peek!

Matt and I had the privilege of traveling to Astoria, Oregon for a wedding this summer.
Jessica & Tillmon (also known as "Bootsy") were married in Astoria on July 31, 2010!
I had met Jessica last year, through a friend, and I was instantly drawn to her bubbly personality. Even though I hadn't previously met her fiance, I was so excited that they asked us to be their wedding photographers. We were greeted with such gracious hospitality by their friends and family and had a great weekend getting to know everyone.

Their story as told by Jessica:

"We met through mutual friends who thought we would be perfect for one another....The problem? I was 14 and he was 17...So, for years we heard about one another and then we finally met 11 years ago, then we met again. That was the point when we knew that there was a mutual interest and saw what our friends had seen all those years ago...that maybe we were a good match. However, Bootsy had just receieved his acceptance to Bethel and I had an interest in serving where the need was greater. So, not being willing to stand in eachothers way and progress spiritually we both went on our merry way.
Last spring we were reconnected and began dating in June 2009 and were married on July 31st 2010."

You can read about the proposal here, on their wedding website.

Congratulations to a beautiful couple!

Alicia & Shell's Wedding :: Seattle Wedding Photographer

Alicia & Shell's wedding took place on July 17 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Renton, Washington. It was a SUNNY day!!! I was sooo sunburnt by the time I made it home. Markings of a day well spent! The ceremony was held in an outside courtyard next to the reception ballroom. We were able to shoot all of the family/bridal party/bride and groom photos in different spots around the building, picking them out as we went along. I have to say, though, the highlight of my day was getting to steal the bride and groom away during the reception for a few romantic shots while the sunlight was golden and perfect. We found some tall grass to use as a setting and photographed them just relaxing, spending a few sweet moments together, newly married.

Congratulations, you guys! Thank you for letting us photograph your day.
